There doesn’t go a single day when the Padmaavat enthusiasts do not get a new update on the film. The protests, call for bans, change of title, clash with PadMan and the list goes on. Just a few days before the period drama could hit the screens, the makers surprisingly preponed the release date. Deepika Padukone- Shahid Kapoor- Ranveer Singh’s magnum opus will now release on January 24 instead of January 25. The producers tactfully averted the uninvited big clash with Akshay Kumar starrer PadMan. However, the twist to the story is that only paid previews will be showcased on 24th of Jan. However, the states who banned the period drama will not be the part of this new development.

The owner of G7 Multiplex said in a statement, "While Padman releases on 25th January, Padmaavat will release the night before. The distributors of Padmaavat are likely to reimburse the film that is scheduled for 9:30 pm that day and screen the magnum opus instead. There will be only one paid preview. This will happen not just in my theatres but across India," according to a report published by Bollywoodlife.com.

The makers are pretty positive about the content and thus are trying to change the perspective of those offended, hoping that the paid previews will help them gain a new outlook towards the masterpiece, Trade Analyst Atul Mohan was quoted explaining, “If the makers of Padmaavat are arranging paid previews, it means they are confident of their product and want to prove to those who have been protesting against the film that they are wrong. They want to show the audience that the movie glorifies Rajput culture and traditions.”

Well, the strong word of mouth will play an important role, especially after SLB’s new strategy. Meanwhile, states like Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Rajasthan have said a big no for Padmaavat’s release. Do you think this plan will work in the favour of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s flick?
