Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Kriti Sanon's Panipat is gaining momentum at the box office but its pace is still very slow. It's raking in few but good numbers at the ticket window and facing very stiff competition from Kartik Aaryan's new offering, Pati Patni aur Woh. While one may assume period sagas to have a splendid business considering they are always a favourite with the audiences, things are exactly shaping in the same way for Ashutosh Gowariker's new directorial. Panipat: Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot Urges CBFC to Take Note of the Wrong Portrayal of Maharaja Surajmal.

After a rather slow start on its opening day, Panipat managed to rake in good numbers on weekend and the trait is expected to continue until Salman Khan's Dabangg 3 hits the screens on December 20. Popular trade analyst, Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter account to reveal its Sunday figures that are slightly more than its Saturday ones. Panipat: Arjun Kapoor's Period Drama Lands in Trouble as Protests Over 'Wrong' Portrayal of Maharaja Surajmal Take Place in Rajasthan.

"#Panipat showed an upward graph on Day 2 and 3, but the 3-day total remains extremely low... Biz-wise, #Maharashtra [#Mumbai, #CP, #Nizam circuits] leads, North and East very poor... Weekdays crucial... Fri 4.12 cr, Sat 5.78 cr, Sun 7.78 cr. Total: ₹ 17.68 cr. #India biz," he tweeted while sharing Panipat's box office report card so far. The movie's good word of mouth is helping to boost its business and we hope, the film is able to collect a decent total at the end of its run.
