Hospitalisation Comes Amid CINTAA Dispute
Dhillon’s hospitalisation comes at a time when CINTAA is facing an internal dispute over its functioning and leadership. Earlier this month, eight elected members of the association’s Executive Committee resigned, citing a loss of confidence in the organisation’s functioning and calling for fresh elections. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has announced September 12 as the date for fresh CINTAA elections, while CINTAA has disputed aspects of the developments surrounding its internal administration.
Poonam Dhillon and Padmini Kolhapure have maintained that they have been working in the interests of CINTAA and its members. Kolhapure has also rejected the allegations and attributed the dispute to misunderstandings within the organisation.
