Posting a video online after wrapping up a shoot, Sawant stated that she was unable to sleep after learning about the incidents unfolding in the capital. She condemned the alleged use of force against young demonstrators and highlighted growing public frustration regarding student welfare and governance.
Speaking emotionally in Hindi, Sawant questioned the current state of affairs: "Haan, raat bhar soyi nahi hoon. Kaise so sakti hoon? Delhi mein chhatraon ko maara ja raha hai... Kya ho raha hai hamare desh mein?" ("Yes, I couldn't sleep all night. How can I sleep? Students are being beaten in Delhi... What is happening in our country?")
Sawant also pointed to systemic issues troubling the youth, including paper leaks in national examinations. "Chhatraon ke papers leak ho rahe hain—NEET paper, NEET paper. Anshan par baithe logon ko maara ja raha hai. Yeh unka adhikar hai," she said, emphasising that peaceful protest is a fundamental right. She expressed deep personal anguish, adding, "Kya sachmuch yeh Bharat hai? Kya hum sab aise hi zindagi bhar khamosh baithe rahenge? Really? Main abhi shoot se aayi hoon. Dil bhar gaya hai.
