The actress announced today (May 8) on Twitter that she’d be playing the titular role in the Shakuntala Devi biopic. Yes, we’ll get to watch Vidya in the avatar of a math genius. It has been almost a year now the buzz over Shakuntala Devi biopic has been going on. However no official announcement was made. The Hindi film in which Vidya Balan was last seen was, Tumhari Sulu. The 40-year-old actress took to Twitter and announced, “BIG DAY! Filmmaker Anu Menon has directed films such as the 2012 film London, Paris, New York and the 2015 released Waiting. She has also directed the web series Four More Shots Please! The Shakuntala Devi biopic is a true story, the genius woman who was also known as the ‘human computer’. She also penned down for the book The World of Homosexuals. She wrote the book in 1977, the first ever that studied the homosexuality in India. Shakuntala Devi passed away at the age of 83, in April 2013. Talking about the biopic, there were also reports stating that even Sanya Malhotra would be seen in a pivotal role. Stay tuned for further updates.
