The first song from the upcoming film, Student of the Year 2, came out today. The movie rehashes the Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani classic into something called The Jawaani Song, trying to mirror the success of The Disco Song from the prequel. The song features the three leads - Tiger Shroff, Ananya Pandey and Tara Sutaria - but the best thing about it is that it gives Aditya Seal, an absolute outsider, enough moments to shine. As for the song, it should have been left as it was if not make it better. But what do we know, despite all the grief that critics gave to The Humma Song, it went on to become uber popular.

The Jawaani Song has been recomposed by Vishal-Shekhar. The original vocals by Kishore Kumar have been used, in addition to Vishal Dadlani and Payal Dev's contribution. The song all in all doesn't leave a very lasting impact, It is not as cool as The Disco Song and it is definitely not as cool as Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani from Jawani Diwani (1972). Student of the Year 2 Trailer: Tiger Shroff’s Flying Kicks Get More Attention than Ananya Pandey-Tara Sutaria Together and That’s Annoying!

The music video is not appealing. The hook step is not that catchy.  All glitz and glamour, less substance. At least, the characters in The Disco Song, did not have three dress changes in the middle of the song. It is small things like these that made a difference. Though, once again, Tiger scores full marks with his sick dance moves. We'd never be tired of seeing him groove. Ever. Though, the ladies, Ananya and Tara, do not live up to expectations on the dance floor.
