Shahid Kapoor's Bollywood career has been a roller coaster ride ever since he made his acting debut with Ishq Vishq in 2003. After impressing everyone with his first outing, the Kapoor lad went on to do a series of films which tanked miserably at the box office. Then in 2006, Shahid tasted commercial and critical success with Sooraj Barjatya's Vivah. The following year, the good-looking actor gave a blockbuster in the form of Jab We Met but the rom-com worked wonders at the box office mainly because of the female lead - Kareena Kapoor Khan. In 2009, Sasha gave one of his finest performances ever in Vishal Bhardwaj's directorial venture KamineyShahid Kapoor's Style File for Kabir Singh Promotions was as Flamboyant as his Persona - View Pics

Shahid became a force to reckon with after Kaminey which was a worldwide box office success. The actor again dished out a hit in 2010 and that was Badmaash Company. Sadly, Kapoor's graph went downhill after that and he delivered consecutive flops till Haider arrived in 2014. Once again Shahid proved his mettle as an intense actor and won critical acclaim and many awards for the same. In 2015, Shahid gave his career's biggest flop in the form of Shaandaar. Then he was seen in Udta Punjab which was a multi-starrer and did well at the ticket windows. His last film that minted good money was Padmaavat but it also starred Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh as well which why it did good business at the BO.

So technically, Shahid hasn't given a blockbuster as a solo hero in a long time. In Kabir Singh, the talented actor is looking very promising alongside Kiara Advani who is yet to taste success at the Indian box office. So will the remake of South blockbuster Arjun Reddy bring back Shahid in the box office race? Will Kabir Singh open big at the ticket windows in India? Well, going by the pre-release buzz and all the appreciation that came its way after the trailer release, it seems Kabir Singh is very much likely to do well at the domestic box office. Kabir Singh: Censor Board Ignores Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani’s Kissing Scenes but Has Objections to These Sequences!

As per trade pundits, the film should open between Rs 10 to 12 crore on day 1 which is a really good figure considering Sasha's track record. If the movie garners good reviews during the morning shows then the film could even pick up more pace during the evening and night shows. This means the opening collection could touch Rs 15 crore if all goes really well in the first half of the Friday.

Whether Kabir Singh rakes in big moolah or not, it has surely piqued everyone's interest including us and that's definitely good news for the film and its team. Plus, Shahid and Kiara's fresh jodi and sizzling chemistry has also grabbed attention. So all in all, Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Hindi version of South blockbuster Arjun Reddy looks well placed at the box office. Hence it won't be surprising if Shahid emerges a winner at the BO with his latest offering.
