Varun Dhawan is all set to step into the shoes of Govinda as he sets out to remake Coolie No. 1. How the comedy will play out in today's time and age would be interesting to see. Reports suggest that Sara Ali Khan has been roped in to play the female lead, which was played by Karisma Kapoor in the original. We might have our hands on a new update on the production of the film. Varun, earlier in the day, was spotted with Farhad Samji of Sajid-Farhad, at David Dhawan's office. Varun and Farhad stepped out together and the paparazzi clicked their pictures.
If we put two and two together, chances are high that Farhad might be the one who has bagged the directorial duty of the upcoming Coolie No 1 remake. Expect an announcement coming out soon on the same. Sajid-Farhad have previously written movies like Judwaa 2 and Chashme Badoor for the Dhawans. Farhad had also stepped in to fill in for Sajid Khan, post his exit, on the sets of Housefull 4. If not that, Farhad might just have been roped in to write Coolie No 1. We are eager to learn about the outcome of this meeting.
Before this Varun has already featured in a remake of the Salman Khan starrer comedy, Judwaa. The movie featured Taapsee Pannu and Jacqueline Fernandez opposite him. Sara and Varun would make quite a cute pair, we say.
Varun was last seen in YRF's Sui-Dhaaga: Made in India. In 2018, he was also seen in Shoojit Sircar's October, which received critical acclaim. The actor will also be seen playing a pivotal role in Dharma Productions' epic scale period drama, Kalank.
