Veteran Actress Hema Malini has won the 2019 Lok Sabha Election as Bharatiya Janta Party's key candidate from the Mathura seat. The Padma Shri winner defeated Rashtriya Lok Dal candidate Kunwar Narendra Singh holding a majority vote share of 60 per-cent plus. The current MP from Mathura constituency previously defeated Jayant Chaudhary of RLD by majority 53.40 per cent votes in the 2014 Lok Sabha Election. Dream Girl sought her election campaign contesting against 19 other candidates from the Mathura constituency including Congress's Mahesh Pathak and RLD's Narendra Singh in this major battle. Mathura is one of the constituencies in Uttar Pradesh which comprises of total 80 seats. Hema Malini officially joined BJP in the year 2004. From 2003 to 2009 she served as MP in Rajya Sabha being nominated by the then President of India, Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. Malini is also a professional Bharatanatyam dancer studying Kuchipudi with Vempati Chinna Satyam and Mohiniattam with Kalamandalam Guru Gopalakrishnan. She even earned the Filmfare Best Actress Award for the 1972 Dharmendra and Sanjeev Kumar starrer Seeta Aur Geeta. Earlier this year Dharmendra also campaigned for her wife in the Mathura constituency. The 70-year-old has worked with husband in 28 films including  Sholay (1975), Charas, Jugnu, Azaad (1978) and Dillagi (1978) to name a few.
