Captain Marvel has opened in theatres on March 8. The movie is the first solo female-driven superhero movie produced by Marvel Studios. Many more to come, they say. The movie stars Brie Larson as the titular superhero and is her origin story told in the most unique way. Samuel L Jackson returns as Nick Fury, albeit with both his eyes intact. In fact, we get to know how he lost his eye. The movie is garnished with your favourite Marvel masala but still manages to stand out as freakishly unique. I have watched the movie at a press show, and I am going to list down my favourite 7 scenes from it. Captain Marvel: The Post-Credit Scenes Details of Brie Larson’s Superhero Film Are Out and They Have an Avengers EndGame Connection (SPOILER ALERT).

So, this would be a great time for you to turn around and walk away if you have not watched Captain Marvel. I mean, SPOILER ALERT has been written in the headline, in bold, for a reason. But lest you guys somehow find me on Twitter and troll me, I repeat - SPOILER ALERT. Which means I am going to reveal crucial details about the movie in the words written below. Please don't read if you intend to watch the movie. Did Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel Solve the Mystery of the Missing Avenger in the Avengers: EndGame Trailer? Here’s Why We Feel So! (SPOILER ALERT).

Here we go...the 7 best scenes from Captain Marvel that will nourish your soul:

Goosebumps

So, you know there is a cute cat, named Goose, in the movie. The thing is it is not a cat at all. It is Flerken. The fact is repeated to us multiple times in the movie but we keep refusing to believe it. That is until the big reveal. Goose is not just your ordinary housecat but a freakin alien, called Flerken, who just looks like a feline. The revelation scene is insane. Nick Fury refuses to pick up the Tesseract from the floor, thinking it will hurt him. Right then, Goose opens her mouth and tentacles come out if it that safely consume the Tesseract, storing it in the stomach for later use. Oh wait, I should have started with the reveal about Tesseract. Anyway!

The Tesseract

So, the Tesseract that caused the entire fiasco in the first Avengers movie and turned out to be an infinity stone in Infinity Wars is an important plot point in Captain Marvel as well. The scene where Captain Marvel finds the said tesseract caused a furore in the audience watching the movie with me.

Poke at the '90s Slow Computers

The '90s was a great time to be alive. Much simpler than today. But, God, the horrors of slow computers stills haunts the '90s kids. In one scene, Captain Marvel and her gang try to copy some information off a CD-ROM. It takes ages. Captain Marvel, who has come back from a technologically sophisticated planet, even wonders aloud, "What is happening?"

The scene has got to be the funniest one in Captain Marvel.

Captain Marvel's Glow up

Near the climax of the film, Captain Marvel discovers the true potential of her powers.  Her entire body, for lack of a better term, starts glowing. Nicky Fury says, "You know you are glowing, right?"

The fight with the old woman

So, the chances are high that you might have seen the glimpses of this in the trailer. Captain Marvel is hunting down Skrulls, who possess the ability to shapeshift into anyone they have seen. One Skrull shapeshifts into an old woman and Captain Marvel spots her. A fight ensues between the 'old woman' and the superhero perplexing the crowd around her. The crowd even tries to incapacitate Captain Marvel. Cute.

The mini-costume makeover montage

Captain Marvel has to ditch her Green costume as she picks up the identity of the superhero. She asks her best friend's young daughter to help and, it is the coolest makeover montage EVER. At one point, Carol Danvers could also be seen in a neon-lit suit which, I think was the best choice. But who am I to say.

The epic takedown of Jude Law

Surprise, surprise. Jude Law plays the villain in the film and not the hero's sidekick. The revelation comes quite early in the film so this is not necessarily a spoiler. But Jude's character,  Yon-Rogg, tries to provoke Captain Marvel to engage in a hand to hand combat with him instead of using her superpowers. You know so that he can have a chance at winning. But our main girl Captain Marvel is not having it anymore and blasts him with her hand-beam thingy. It is almost a reminder of the Hulk smash from Avengers and is cool for so many reasons.

So, those were our favourite scenes from Captain Marvel. There are many such scenes that will keep you at the edge of your seat or will tickle you funny. There is no reason you should miss out on watching this movie in the theatres.
