After working with Dame Judi Dench in Victoria & Abdul, Ali Fazal has bagged another Hollywood biggie. The actor will be seen in the film adaptation of Agatha Christie’s 1937 detective fiction novel, Death On The Nile. The film is being helmed by director Kenneth Branagh who has worked on films like Murder On The Orient Express and the Thor series. Fazal's casting is a big deal considering the film stars some big names such as Gal Gadot and Armie Hammer in lead roles.

The film will have Branagh returning to play detective Hercule Poirot in the film. The Death on the Nile revolves around a murder investigation that takes place in a cruise on the Nile. The story goes deeper and deeper after the key suspects for the murder also start getting wiped out. A film adaption of the book was first made by John Guillermin in 1978. It starred Peter Ustinov as Poirot and the supporting cast included Maggie Smith, Angela Lansbury, Bette Davis, Mia Farrow, David Niven, George Kennedy and Jack Warden. The film also starred popular Indian actor Saeed Jaffrey in a cameo role and we wonder if Fazal will be reprising his role in the film.

We have already seen Fazal in a fleeting cameo in one of the biggest franchise films, Furious 7. We are yet to learn any details about Fazal's character in the upcoming Branagh film but there's a good chance that Jaffrey's character from the original has now been modified with Fazal being cast for it. Ali Fazal on Completing 10 Years in Bollywood: ‘There Has Been a Lot of Growth as an Actor’.
