Ahead of the release of Captain Marvel, Brie Larson, who plays the pivotal role in the film, paid a visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live's set. While chatting with the host of the show, Larson divulged into details of her character. Since this is the first female standalone film of a superhero by Marvel, stakes are super high. Perhaps keeping that on the mind, Larson did undergo some rigorous training for a period of nine months to get into the skin of the character!

While speaking to Kimmel, Brie Larson admitted that she was approached and agreed for the role three years ago! "At least three years ago." However, as she had to keep mum about this new development, Larson was not allowed to tell anybody about the project for a year. During this time, to achieve the physicality that the role demands, Larson had to train for nine months.

She also had to learn the basics of making a "cool face" for various scenes. As she spoke to Kimmel, Brie Larson also revealed how sometimes it was hard to bring that cool face and she would end up in splits. In fact, the stunt team would often have to dive in and suggest body movements including the "clenching" of her fist and jaw while turning around slowly, for the effect.

During their conversation, as Kimmel asked Brie about working with Samuel L Jackson, who reprises the role of Nick Fury in yet another Marvel film, Larson had only good things to say. "There are things that only we know," said Larson about her friendship with Jackson. She further stated how their camaraderie culminated into a strong bond while doing the three movies together. Captain Marvel is set to release on March 8.
