The Fast and The Furious is perhaps one of those rare franchises, whose sequels ended up with increasing returns after a lacklustre start. The final couple of movies have even crossed the billion mark at the box office. Vin Diesel and the late Paul Walker were the main stalwarts in the main franchise, with Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster and Ludacris also a part of the team in the cars-n-thrills action flicks. Hobbs & Shaw First Poster! In the fifth instalment, Fast Five, the franchise added the charismatic Dwayne Johnson, giving the flailing franchise a much-needed boost. By the seventh movie, Furious 7, Jason Statham joined as a villain, though in the next instalment, The Fate of the Furious, his sins are washed off and he becomes one of the heroes. Fans loved the camaraderie of Johnson and Statham in the film. This has inspired the makers of the franchise to use their characters for a spin-off, Hobbs & Shaw.

Hobbs & Shaw is directed by David Leitch, the man responsible for the first John Wick movie. As that Keanu Reeves movie showed us, Leitch has the knack of executing some great action scenes that are seen in the trailer. The actions sequences are crazy and are in the line of what we expect from the franchise. The premise feels very Bad Boys, and the CGI is iffy at places. However, nothing of that sort matters when The Rock and The Stat's bonhomie is on display! The skyscraper scene is the highlight of the trailer.

Hobbs & Shaw also stars Vanessa Kirby, Roman Reigns, Eiza Gonzalez, Eddie Marsan, Cliff Curtis and Helen Mirren. The movie is set two years after the events of The Fate of the Furious and is aiming to release in August.
