Kanye West recently made a surprise secret appearance at a Houston, Texas jail where he performed with his Sunday Service choir for several intimates on Friday. The rapper-turned-gospel singer performed songs from his new gospel album “Jesus is King.” He and his choir performed for more than 200 male inmates at one jail facility before crossing the street to another jail facility and performing for a smaller crowd of female inmates. Rapper Kanye West Converts to Christianity, Confirms It at Listening Party of 'Jesus Is King'.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez took to Twitter to share a picture with West and wrote, "@kanyewest visited us today. I know he has a busy weekend in H-Town surrounding his visit to @lakewoodchurch, so appreciate him and his choir spending time with us. #HouNews." In the videos seen on social media, the inmates can be seen enjoying themselves and overcome with emotions watching Kanye rap.

Kanye and the choir are set to appear alongside televangelist Joel Osteen during his Lakewood Church services on Sunday and for which the rapper has travelled to Houston. While Kanye was performing at the Harris County jail, his wife Kim Kardashian has been busy advocating for prison reform. She visited the Allan B. Polunsky Unit prison in Livingston, Texas and spent time with death row inmate Rodney Reed.
