Bollywood is just as famous for rumours as it is for movies. The latest rumour to hit the B-Town is the one about yesteryear actress Mumtaz's death. Don't worry. The actress is hale and hearty. But somehow the internet started paying tributes to and posting obituaries for Mumtaz. Her fans were obviously heartbroken upon reading those tweets in the first glance. Someone as established as trade analyst Komal Nahta also fell for the hoax and made a statement on Twitter. This further perpetuated the rumour. After learning the truth from Milap Zaveri, Komal deleted his tweet and apologised. Celebrity Death Hoax From Barbara Bush, Sylvester Stallone to Bollywood's Amitabh Bachchan: These Fake News Caused Panic Among Everyone.

"Mumtaz Aunty is alive and absolutely fine. Just spoke to her and

@Shaadrandhawa her nephew. She would like for the rumors to stop," Milap tweeted.

This won't be the first time Twitter became the playground for trolls to circulate death hoax about a celebrity. Back in December 2018, the internet was rife with hoaxes about Kader Khan's demise. The actor's son Sarfaraz had to clear the air. In the same year, Sonali Bendre and Sylvester Stallone were also targetted with death hoaxes by the trolls.

As a matter of fact, this won't be the first time when Mumtaz herself has fallen prey to death hoaxes. Back on April 28, 2018, rumours of her death were the prime talking point on Twitter, when the actress was simply holidaying in Rome. Tanya Madhwani, Mumtaz's daughter, had to post a video assuring fans that the veteran actress was in perfect health.
