Vanga revealed the news while attending the trailer launch of Romanchakam, an upcoming film he is presenting under Bhadrakali Pictures, a banner he co-owns with his brother Pranay Reddy Vanga.

The director stated that Spirit has been conceived as an intense, violent action film, adding that the 'A' certification should not come as a surprise to audiences familiar with his style of cinema. In the movie, Prabhas is set to play the role of a police officer.

During the interaction, Vanga reiterated his belief in Prabhas’ massive box-office pull, referring to him as "India's biggest superstar." He noted that this sentiment is shared by a vast majority of moviegoers across the country.

The filmmaker also addressed questions regarding a potential box-office clash with SS Rajamouli’s upcoming directorial Varanasi, starring Mahesh Babu. Spirit is currently scheduled for release in March 2027, while Varanasi is slated to hit theatres in April 2027.

When asked if the roughly 37-day gap between the two big-ticket projects would be sufficient, Vanga assured that it would be, noting that Varanasi is a larger-scale project.
