Punjab cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu has been asked to leave The Kapil Sharma Show following his comments on the Pulwama terror attack. Speculations are rife that Sidhu will be replaced by Archana Puran Singh on the popular television comedy talk show. Reports also suggest that the team has already shot a couple of episodes with Archana. Indian Express quoted a source as saying, "His remarks have not been taken kindly by most. Also, the channel and the show was getting dragged into the unwanted controversy. This is when the team amicably decided that Navjot make a distance from the show. The team has already shot a couple of episodes with Archana." However, the actress dismissed the reports of being approached to replace Sidhu in the show permanently. After ‘#BoycottSidhu’, ‘#BoycottSonyTV’ Picks Up Pace On Twitter!

Archana, while speaking to ANI, said, "I have already shot for two episodes of The Kapil Sharma Show which are yet to be aired. But those episodes were just a temporary replacement of Navjot Singh Sidhu as the politician was busy." Denying the reports of replacing Sidhu on the show permanently, the actress said that she has not been approached by the channel but would think about the offer if approached. Navjot Singh Sidhu To Be Fired From The Kapil Sharma Show Over His Pulwama Attack Statements! #BoycottSidhu Becomes The Top Trend On Twitter!

Earlier, the cricketer-turned-politician, during a media interaction, said, "Nations cannot be held responsible for the dastardly acts of terrorists. The terrorists do not have deen, mazhab (sect and religion). There are good, the bad and the ugly. Every institution has them. Every nation has them. The ugly need to be punished. But individuals cannot be blamed for the dastardly act." This statement of Sidhu didn’t go down well with the netizens and they they began bashing him severely on social media, demanding that the channel (Sony - the broadcasters of The Kapil Sharma Show) should be boycotted till Sidhu is removed from the show.
