Bigg Boss 12, hosted by Salman Khan, is all about fights, comedy, controversy and of course, unadulterated drama along with high octane voting and elimination. Earlier when the makers had announced the new edition of Salman Khan's Bigg Boss, several names of the celebrities had come up in the list, who were said to be participating in the 12th season of Bigg Boss and one of the several names was Television star Shaleen Bhanot. While several reports suggested that Shaleen and his ex-wife, Daljiet Kaur would be one of the jodis on the show, Shaleen opted out of the controversial show and here's why.

While speaking to a leading daily, Shaleen said that he decided to opt out of Salman's show due to a deeply personal issue. Confirming the news that he had been approached by the channel, the actor said, "When I spoke to the makers, they told me that the theme was jodis. They wanted me in the house with Daljiet. But after thinking over it, I decided not to opt for it because of my son, Shaarav." The actor further told the daily, "After all that has happened over the years, I am finally in a good space, career-wise and personally. My son and I have got closer, which is a big deal for me. I don't want to do anything to jeopardise it."

On the professional front, Shaleen was last seen playing the role of Maha Singh in Life OK's historical drama Sher-e-Punjab: Maharaja Ranjit Singh. On the personal front, the actor had a troubled marriage. He got married to television actress Daljeet Kaur in 2009 and got seperated in 2015 after the later accused Shaleen Bhanot of domestic violence. Post a public spat, the couple opted for an out of court settlement.
