Juhi Parmar and Sachin Shroff's divorce set the internet on fire. The two decided to part ways after nine years of marriage and got divorced on June 25, 2018. Though they tried to keep it as cordial as possible, things did get a little ugly after Sachin went on to say on record that Juhi never loved him. After the two separated legally, Juhi got the sole custody of their daughter, Samaira. In an exclusive interview with LatestLY, Juhi opened up about being a single mother and how her daughter reacted to her parents separating. Though Juhi admits that it's difficult being a single parent, she sees the brighter side of things.

She says, "I get double the love, double the attention and double the responsibilities - its a mixed bag at the end of the day." Sachin and Juhi had also participated in a couple of reality shows together after which rumours of her ill-temper being the reason for their separation started doing the rounds. But the two seemed to have moved on now and are focussing more on their daughter. Like every concerned parent, they are trying to make sure that they make their daughter's life as normal and as happy as they can.

Here are excerpts from our chat.

How has Samaira been handled the separation?

Children are very instinctive and they know when something is happening sometimes without you having to spell it out for them.  I explained the situation to her in a way a kid would understand without feeling the weightage and she understood. It has been difficult but she's a very mature child and luckily has never really asked too many questions.

Single parenting is not an easy job. In fact, parenting itself can be quite tricky sometimes. How are you managing it?

Of course, it is not easy! Single parenting has its own challenges but this has been my reality for the last two years.  I get double the love, double the attention and double the responsibilities - it's a mixed bag at the end of the day.  But you would be surprised, God has made us women very strong and I'm blessed to have a great support system in my parents and friends to be able to take on the challenge of single parenting.

Has your divorce and the fact that you are a single parent now affected your career in any way?

No, not really!  I don't think me being a single parent has anything to do with my capability as an actor.

Has your take on relationships and marriage changed entirely?

No, because I have seen some beautiful relationships and marriages - of my parents, friends, etc and hence I still believe in the institution very much.

A pro-tip for all the single mothers out there?

It might be double the work but it is also double the love. Do what you feel is best for your child and go with that instinct!

Since Kasautii is coming back with a reboot, would you want Kumkum to also come back? And which actress, do you think, can play your role perfectly?

I will be really happy if Kumkum is remade but having said that all remakes have new actors playing those characters so I really don’t know how m i going to feel when I will see somebody else as Kumkum because it has become a part of me and I relate the name to me and with me.
