Actor Shantanu Maheshwari is television’s chocolate boy and there is no argument there. The lad has only impressed one and all ever since he made his acting debut with Channel V’s Dil Dosti Dance. He has also made the country proud when he and his crew Desi Hoppers won the World of Dance championship. But what we miss the most about him after his second TV show on MTV titled Girls on Top went off air is him doing fiction shows. After the MTV show went off air, Shantanu participated in Khatron Ke Khiladi: Pain in Spain and even went on to win the show. Along with this, the actor and dancer has been busy with his dancing.
When Bombay Times asked Shantanu of his absence from the fiction part of television Shantanu confessed, “I have never restricted myself, but maybe, my look did not meet the requirement of General Entertainment Channel (GEC) shows. I probably looked very young; in fact, that happens even now. I’m still told that I look very young for a particular role. I take that in a positive way (smiles). I am open to anything interesting and want to play challenging characters.” World of Dance Contestant Shantanu Maheshwari Talks About How Desi Hoppers Are Carving the Way for Other Budding Indian Dancers in This EXCLUSIVE Interview
However, when he was asked if he’d join the bandwagon of actors who are a part of the on-going fad of naagins and daayans and do such a project, the actor surprisingly replied, “I would do it if the role is interesting. The fact that such shows are made today proves that the audience is watching them. And, as I said, what matters to me is my character and the story.”
Not that we mind Shantanu’s chocolate boy looks, but we do miss seeing him show off his acting prowess and win hearts.
