In the last episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai Kartik and Naira brings Vedika home after learning that Akshat is out on bail. Kartik and Naira’s closeness makes Vedika uncomfortable. In tonight’s episode we see Suhasini informs Kartik (Mohsin Khan) that the family is leaving out for some work and will be back soon.  Kartik is happy to know that when Naira (Shivangi Joshi) comes no one will be home and they will have some time together. Kartik gets ready and waits impatiently for Naira. Kartik is surprised to see Vedika. Vedika apologies and tells Naira has stopped for some work so she came ahead. Suhasini comes and gives Naira some sacred thread, which she tells Kartik and Naira to wear. Naira and Kartik discuss the menu and other preparations. Everyone is deciding on songs they'd be performing to during the sangeet function. The Goenkas and the Singhanias tell that they should compete with each other. Vedika gets a call from the dance academy for work. Naira tells Suhasini that she only told Vedika to work as she will be busy with her life.

Swarna and Suhasini bring the wedding saree for Naira and give it to her. Naira keeps the saree in the mandir and seeks blessings. While everyone else is prepping for the sangeet, Vansh and Kairav are busy in playing. Vedika thinks everyone loves Naira. Suddenly Suhasini sees Vedika trying to put off the fire off Naira’s wedding saree. Suhasini is angry and yells at Vedika for being careless and ruining Naira's wedding saree. Naira requests her to not shout at Vedika as it was an accident. Kairav and Vansh come and tell that it was their fault. Kairav says when they were playing the lamp fell down and the saree caught fire.

Naira apologies to Vedika for the misunderstanding. Suhasini also apologies to Vedika and tells Naira that she will get her a new saree for the wedding. Later, Kartik tells Naira that he feels bad that her wedding saree caught fire. Kartik makes fun saying that it would not have fitted her now and laughs. Vansh tells Kairva that they should also have a special act for the sangeet. Kairav starts dancing on a stool and falls down. Naira and Kartik come and check if he is fine. Kartik tells that they should call a doctor. Naira feels that there's no need as he is just scared.

Kartik and Naira get into a fight deciding which side will Kairav be performing for. Kairav says he does not want to dance and leaves. Kartik and Naira go to get ready for the sangeet function. Vedika comes and tells Naira that the sangeet academy people had called as there is some major problem. Naira tells her she will have to go to solve it. Vedika tells her she will join her.

In the precap, Naksh waits for Naira and worries about her. As Naira comes out of the academy, Vedika calls out for help as she is locked inside.
