Kochi, July 9: The Kerala Police on Sunday issued a directive asking people not to answer call from phone numbers starting with +5 and +4. Some people who fell in the trap and attended calls from mobile numbers starting with +5 and +4 reported significant reduction in their mobile phone ‘talk-time’.

The police issued a directive after several people in the state reported that they were receiving calls from numbers starting with +5 and +4. The said numbers appear to be from countries like Bolivia. The dialing code in Bolivia is +591. However, the origin of these calls was not clear.

The high-tech cell of the state police have begun an investigation into the matter. It is not clear whether these calls are coming from outside the country or whether they are being made to appear as ISD calls. The police asked people not to attend such call until the probe in the matter concludes.
