Candidates who wish to appear for the exam must complete their registration on the official website, gate2027.iitm.ac.in, before the window shuts.
Eligibility and Application Fee

On the fee front, female candidates and those belonging to the SC, ST, and PwD categories are required to pay INR 1,000 as the application fee, while all other candidates must pay INR 2,000 to complete their registration.
IIT Madras, the exam-conducting body, has also clarified that candidates with an unverified DigiLocker account can still proceed with their registration by choosing the default ID proof option on the application form. Documents Required for Registration
Applicants must keep the following documents ready while filling out the form:
- Passport-size photograph
- Signature
- Valid ID proof such as Aadhar card or Voter ID card
- Category certificate, if applicable
- PwD certificate, if applicable
Correction Window and Exam Dates
Once the application process ends, IIT Madras will open a correction window from October 14 to 21, 2026, allowing candidates to make changes to their submitted forms.
The GATE 2027 exam is scheduled to be held on February 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, and 21.
