The engineering aspirants from today are appearing at one of the most coveted entrance exams-- Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. This is the first time that the entrance exam will be conducted in an online mode and also the first time that the newly-built National Testing Agency (NTA) will hold the examination for lakhs of engineering aspirants. Although, NTA has not specified any dress code for both the attempts, it is advisable not to wear dresses that can arouse suspicion of hiding chits or mobile phones or any communication device. Dress Code for JEE Main 2019

  • It is winter time, so suggesting only half sleeve dresses is impractical. Just avoid too many drapes, pockets or folds in your dress. Too many buttons or brooches are also not allowed.
  • No fancy scarfs, stoles, caps, goggles are allowed inside the exam centres.
  • Wearing watches are not allowed in the JEE Main 2019 exam centres.
  • Any accessory or jewellery like rings, earrings, bangles, bracelets, anklets, etc. is not recommended on the exam day.
  • Just like many other entrance exams such as CAT, in JEE too, shoes and socks are not allowed.

The students must note that dress is not a bar in JEE Main 2019 but wearing clothes with too many buttons or full sleeves, etc. candidates will have to go through an extensive checking before entering the exam hall. Important Guidelines for JEE Main 2019

  • Electronic devices like mobile phone, pager, calculator, log tables, books, notebooks, bits of paper are not allowed to carry inside the examination hall.
  • Pen or pencil are not allowed to carry inside the exam hall. For Paper 2 written exam, you will be provided with the same by the authorities.
  • No Bags Are Allowed Inside the JEE Main Exam Hall

JEE Main 2019 is for candidates who seek to take admission at the National Institutes of Technology (NIT), Indian Institutes of Information Technology and some other colleges. NTA released the entrance exam notification in October, 2018. Paper 1 will be conducted from January 6 to January 20, while Paper 2 will be held on January 8 only in one shift.
