Lucknow, January 5: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has approved a crucial three-year age relaxation for candidates applying for UP Police recruitment on 32,679 posts. Following this decision, the upper age limit for applicants has been increased from 22 years to 25 years. An official government order has been issued, bringing relief to thousands of aspirants who were earlier rendered ineligible due to age restrictions.

Importantly, the age relaxation will apply uniformly across all categories, General, OBC, SC, and ST. Posts Covered Under Age Relaxation

The relaxation is applicable to direct recruitment in the UP Police and Jail Department. The posts included are:

• Constable (Civil Police)

• PAC (Provincial Armed Constabulary)

• Special Security Force (UPSSF)

• Women Battalion

• Jail Warder

For several months, aspirants, especially from the General category, had been demanding age relaxation. Protests were held both on the streets and across social media platforms. UP Police Recruitment 2025: Application Dates

The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has already released the advertisement for 32,679 constable-level posts under Direct Recruitment–2025.

• Last date to apply: 30 January 2026
