The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) has finally released the admit card for the UP-State Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). Those who have applied successfully can visit the official website; upbasiceduboard.gov.in to download the call letters for the exam which is scheduled to conduct on November 18. The hall tickets link will be available on the site until the exam day. However, there has been a slight delay in publishing the call letters sighting some technical issues. As UPBEB finally released the admit cards, revise up the syllabus and paper pattern of UPTET 2018.

The online registration for UPTET 2018 concluded on October 7, and the candidates were allowed to submit the fees till October 9, 2018. The application procedure this year saw server collapsed twice forcing the government to introduce new web addresses including the extension in deadline three times. UP Basic Education Board conducts the TET exam in the state for the recruitment of teachers in the Government-run primary and upper primary schools.

UPTET 2018 Syllabus

The syllabus for UPTET is built on two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. The curriculum for the entrance exam has remained similar over the years. In Paper 1, the candidates will have to cover topics from Child Development and Teaching Methodology, Language 1 (Hindi), Language 2 (any from English, Urdu & Sanskrit), Mathematics and Environmental Science. Paper 2 consists of topics similar to Paper 1. However, instead of Environmental Science, students are to study Mathematics/ Science B. Social Studies/ Social Science.

UPTET 2018 Paper Pattern

Paper 1 is conducted for aspirants applying for appointment of teacher of class 1 to 5. On the other hand, Paper 2 is for those who are interested in teaching from grade 6 to 8. UPTET 2018 is an offline mode exam in which students answer objective type multiple choice-based questions. Both the papers have 150 questions and there no negative marking. Depending on the syllabus for Paper 1 and Paper 2, the questions are divided into sections which have 30 questions each. The level of questions varies according to the group; the candidates have applied for.

TET is a compulsory entrance examination to qualify for students who aspire to become a government teacher in both primary and upper primary levels. The certification holds for five years from the date of passing to apply for teaching jobs. This year, the Examination Regulatory Authority (ERA) has rejected above 44,000 applications because of ineligibility and duplicity. As many as 18,25,036 candidates have applied for UPTET 2018.
