A 70-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped and murdered by two men in Uttar Pradesh's Mohanlalganj area after she objected to them consuming alcohol near her house, police said. According to police, the two accused were consuming alcohol near the woman's residence when an argument broke out after she objected to their presence, reported TOI. Police said the woman suffered critical injuries after allegedly falling against the leg of an iron cot during the assault. Two Accused Arrested
An FIR has been registered at Mohanlalganj police station in connection with the case. Investigators identified and arrested the accused with the help of CCTV footage, technical evidence and local intelligence inputs, police said.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the alleged assault and murder is underway.
