Kashmir, June 22: According to a recent update, 2 terrorists have been gunned down by security forces in an encounter underway in Anantnag's Srigufwara area in Jammu & Kashmir. According to an ANI report, another terrorist is believed to be still trapped.

An encounter is still underway between the security forces and terrorists  in Jammu and Kashmir. This comes a day after suspected militants fired upon a police vehicle in Pampore area of southern Pulwama district in Jammu & Kashmir.

All the three officers injured in the firing were taken to the nearby hospital. One of them, constable Tanveer Ahmad, died at the hospital, and the other officer was declared stable. It was also the first attack since the imposition of Governor's rule in the state on Wednesday, a day after BJP broke their alliance with PDP in Jammu & Kashmir.

In another news from ANI, Policeman HC Habibullah, who was injured during an attack on a Police party in Karan Nagar last week, has succumbed to his injuries.

The Central Government had earlier this week announced the cessation of anti-terror operations in Jammu and Kashmir which was suspended in the wake of Ramzan.
