Gurugram, September 11: In another case of sexual harassment at workplace, an American national, who works in the city has filed a complaint with police, alleging that a senior official of her company has been sexually harassing her for the last one and a half years, according to a Times of India report. The woman told police that she had already lodged a complaint with the company's internal committee, along with statements of witnesses and bills for psychological counselling that she had to undergo to overcome the harassment faced in office. According to the complaint, as quoted in the national daily, she said, "I was subjected to harassment and bullying. My presentations were rejected and I was humiliated and ridiculed with comments like ‘you are not worthy of the company’. The communication and behaviour of the accused outraged my modesty repeatedly."
It was further added, "On one occasion, after ridiculing my work, as usual, he bent on his desk and obscenely touched my hand, asking what could I offer if was forgiven for shoddy work? I walked out politely but was shaken. I endured it for over one and a half years and confided to the company counsellor about it. But harassment continued."
The victim was working as a senior executive with the multi-national company from the past three years. On the basis of the complaint, an FIR was registered against the accused.
