New Delhi, April 19: The 2018 Time 100 List, featuring the hundred most influential people in the world, includes Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli, Ola co-founder Bhavish Aggarwal, actress Deepika Padukone and Indian-origin Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.

Kohli's profile in the elite listing was written by cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, who described him as a passionate athlete who is striving each day to improve his game.

Tendulkar recalled following Kohli's performance as early as 2008, when he captained the U-19 Indian team in the World Cup.

"That was the first time I watched this young, passionate player lead India. Today, Virat Kohli is a household name and a champion in cricket. Even back then, his hunger for runs and consistency was remarkable, something that has become the hallmark of his game," Tendulkar said.

Meanwhile, Padukone was profiled in the magazine by Hollywood star Vin Diesel, her co-actor in the xXx: Return of Xander Cage. Deepika is "not just a star, but an actor's actor", he said, adding that she represents "not only India, but the entire world".

In praise of Aggarwal, Flipkart head Sachin Bansal said he has a "vision, passion and determination" to stand against all odds.

Nadella, meanwhile, was profiled by Walter Isaacson, a professor of history at Tulane University and a former managing editor of TIME. Isaacson said the top techie draws his inspiration from the sport of cricket, where "grace comes from melding stars into a cohesive harmonic team". The professor claimed Nadella has played the role of a stellar leader ever since taking over as the CEO of Microsoft in 2014.
