Vijayawada, June 10: In another act of brutality, a 45-year-old woman in Vijayawada was booked under Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) for raping a 15-year-old boy. According to a report by TOI, the incident took place at Vambay Colony in Vijayawada on May 5.

The incident came to light on Friday after the boy's family lodged a police complaint. Soon after, the woman was arrested and sent to judicial custody.

According to the report, the woman and the boy are neighbours and knew each other. Nunna inspector M V Durga Rao was quoted by TOI saying that the woman's husband died about seven years ago and has been living alone after her two daughters got married. Reports inform that on May 5, the woman forced the boy to have sex with her. Horrified by the incident, the boy ran to his grandparents’ house and returned a month later on June 5.

A complaint of rape has been lodged by the boy's mother along with locals against the woman while the Police has booked a case against the woman under Section 4 of the POCSO Act.

The Police reports inform that the woman was apprehensive that the boy would reveal the incident to his family. In another such blow, the boy was raped by the woman on June 7 and was spotted by his mother, which led to arguments between the two women. The boy then narrated his ordeal to his mother and informed her that the woman was after his life and tried to do the same to him a month ago.
