Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an ambitious healthcare scheme 'Ayushman Bharat' saying that it will be launched from September 25 this year. But even before the PM made the announcement, hackers had already made fake websites to lure people. Not one but a number of fake websites were seen as active to cheat people. These websites look very similar to the Ayushman Bharat official website (www.abnhpm.gov.in) and bear pictures of prominent leaders, to make them look authentic. The scheme is said to benefit about 50 crore of citizens helping the poor with an access to affordable healthcare. PM Modi Reviews Preparedness Ahead of Health Assurance Program Launch Under Ayushman Bharat.

WhatsApp forwards are being sent with fake links, which have the PM in their names. These links ask the user to enrol for the scheme and have given it different names. The message states that people can avail a benefit of Rs 1000- Rs 1200.

Here are some of the Fake Ayushman Bharat website links:

http://www.pradhanmantriagreement.in This site has given numbers of helpline but they are switched off. But it is quite possible that those who called on them might be called back and asked to pay some money.

http://www.pradhanmantriyojana.in This website claims to introduce all the new schemes that will be launched. It has several other fake links connected to the details of the Ayushman Bharat scheme, registration, application form, etc.

http://www.yogiyojana.in This has got all the information relating to the scheme in Hindi. But this is another fake site.

http://www.ayushmanbharatyojana.co.in This website has a description of the scheme and names it 'Modicare' commonly used term by the BJP leaders.

This is not the first time PM Modi's name and the schemes are used to create fake websites to lure people. Recently the savings schemes for girls, the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana also had a fake registration website issue. Before Independence Day, a lot of fake messages were forwarded regarding Modi distributing cycles, helmets and scooters. All of these were hoaxes targetting the poor who would easily be lured by such schemes.

Regarding the numerous fake websites that were launched much before the CEO of Ayushman Bharat, Indu Bhushan said, " The scheme envisioned by the government is completely cashless and the beneficiaries do not have to pay any premium. Besides this, no registration is required for it." The team is planning to take police action against all these websites.
