New Delhi, September 18: President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday inaugurated the web portal and logo to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi - The Father of the Nation. October 2, 2019, will be the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The web portal is called Gandhi 150 and has the web address http://gandhi.gov.in/ . The web portal consists of information related to Gandhian literature, philosophy, audios, videos, rare photos and more. Centre Approves Special Remission to Prisoners for Gandhi Jayanti.

It is an interactive website where viewers can sign up and log in with their mobile numbers. All the participating organisations will be able to upload their activities regarding the commemoration of Gandhi Jayanti on the website. Organisations and individuals can join celebrations and submit their 'Karyanjali' through an easy upload process. Swachhata Hi Seva: PM Modi Launches Cleanliness Drive Leading to Mahatma Gandhi's 150th Birth Anniversary.

The web portal also has a feature called 'Gandhipedia', which will be a repository of Gandhian knowledge and will continue to grow with time. Users can download the works of Mahatma Gandhi under this feature.

Users can also access the events that have been scheduled to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

The logo launched by the President today has been obtained through crowd -sourcing. The logo will be displayed in trains, Metro rail, Air India Aircraft, State Roadways Buses, Government websites, E-mails, Government stationery, calendar and diary, Government advertisements and publicity material, digital signature etc.

The two-year long celebrations from October, 2, 2018 to October, 2, 2020 will be held across the country and all over the globe.
