Mumbai, October 6: Direct flights between India and China will resume from today, October 26, after a five-year hiatus. Air connectivity between the two countries has been suspended since 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, followed by border tensions that have strained diplomatic ties.

India had announced on October 2 that direct flights to China would resume from October 26. IndiGo Airlines will fly the first flight from India to China on October 26. The IndiGo flight between Kolkata and Guangzhou is scheduled to take off on October 26.
