Bhopal, June 22: In a shocking incident, a teacher of a government school has been arrested for raping a Class 4th student. According to a recent tweet by ANI, the brutal incident took place at a government school in Shahdol's Burhar in Madhya Pradesh. In another similar incident of brutality, a 6-year-old girl attending a wedding with her parents was raped and murdered in Gwalior town on Thursday. According to a report by TOI, the minor was reportedly lured for an ice-cream from the wedding venue. The report states that the incident took place around 11:30 pm during wedding rituals.

Earlier this week, a court in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh sentenced a 21-year-old man to death for raping and killing a nine-year-old girl in 2017. The culprit has been awarded death penalty after he was found guilty of the child's rape and murder. According to a PTI report, the incident took place on April 13, 2017 when the girl had gone to a forest near her village Ujnet under Bandri police station to collect mahua seeds.

To recall, the Madhya Pradesh Assembly had last December unanimously passed a Bill awarding death penalty to those found guilty of raping girls below 12 years of age.
