New Delhi, July 10: A journalist working with a leading media house harassed by two bike-borne miscreants in broad daylight in the national capital on Monday. "I was driving back from work today afternoon from Filmcity Noida. Enroute, I noticed two miscreants following me on a bike behind my car. I tried to dodge them and the ordeal continued for at least 20 minutes," she tweeted. According to her post, the miscreants tried to block her car but she managed to escape. However, she had to stop her car at a signal.
They tried blocking my way but I somehow managed to keep up with the pace of the car and continued driving amid other vehicles. This was near Akshardham when I took a halt at a red right and rolled down my windows to give them a piece of my mind...

"They stood next to me and passed lewd comments. Hearing those, I thought to myself that ignoring such fools would perhaps be the right thing to do at that time. The signal turned green and they continued following me," she further alleged. The miscreants then smashed her car's rear view mirror, sped and ran away.
Next thing I know, they smashed the rear view mirror on the driver’s side of my car, sped and ran away. All of this in BROAD DAYLIGHT in Delhi. I failed to note down the bike’s number. I noticed the mirror was broken but all I wanted to do was get home safe.

.@dtptraffic Where do I put my trust in you that next time I’ll be saved from some mishap? I am home, safe and will be flying to Mumbai in a day but my heart goes out to those several girls out there who struggle to be safe in the national capital.

I fail to understand how you’d track those two men, since the entire stretch where the incident took place is devoid of CCTVs. But I will still file a complaint this time. Only because I want to entrust @dtptraffic that such incidents should not go unnoticed. https://t.co/w9N6raSUzK

"Do women not deserve to drive around in the national capital without fear? I am now based out of Mumbai but I have alwahs felt immense love for Delhi. Incidents like these make me feel I have no reasons to come back to this city anymore," she posted. Responding to her tweets, the Delhi Police asked her to lodge a formal complaint on its website, delhipolice.nic.in.
