The confrontation reportedly took place at Dipke's residence in the Waluj MIDC area, where police personnel have been stationed for several weeks.
In videos shared online, Dipke can be heard saying, "Police cannot decide whom I should meet. I will decide whom to meet," while questioning the presence and conduct of the officers outside his home. The confrontation came shortly after Dipke returned from New Delhi, where he had led a protest at Jantar Mantar demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET paper leak. Following the incident at his residence, Dipke alleged that the police were restricting access to visitors rather than providing security.
Why Police Were Deployed Outside His Home
Police personnel have been stationed outside Dipke's residence since late May after he claimed to have received death threats online. Dipke had shared screenshots of the alleged threatening messages on social media, following which police deployed security as a precautionary measure.
At the time, Deputy Commissioner of Police Pankaj Atulkar said the deployment was intended to ensure Dipke's safety and maintain law and order as supporters gathered outside his residence. Senior police officials had also reviewed the security arrangements before Dipke returned from Delhi.
While police have maintained that the deployment was solely for security and crowd management, Dipke has alleged that officers were preventing people from meeting him and behaving discourteously with visitors. No official clarification has yet been issued regarding Dipke's latest allegations or the viral video showing the confrontation.
