Ahmedabad Porsche Viral Video: Mohammad Akran Tirmizi Booked for Rash Driving

A 24-year-old commercial pilot has been booked by Ahmedabad's Navrangpura police after a video purportedly showing a Porsche being driven at high speed on city roads went viral on social media. Police have seized the car and are investigating footage that allegedly shows the vehicle travelling at up to 300 kmph, while also verifying the authenticity of the video.

The case relates to an alleged high-speed drive on August 22 along the road from HCG Hospital towards M B Patel Rashtrabhasha Arts and Commerce College in Mithakhali and then towards Law Garden, Times of India reported. Pilot Booked Over High-Speed Driving in Ahmedabad

The video was reportedly uploaded on Instagram and later came to the attention of police personnel at the Law Garden police outpost. Following the footage, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-1) Dr Harshad Patel and Assistant Commissioner of Police (B-Division) H M Kansagra directed officers to identify the vehicle and its driver.

Driver Traced And Vehicle Seized

According to police, the incident took place around 1.30pm on August 22. CCTV footage allegedly showed the Porsche being driven at high speed on the road connecting the HCG Hospital area with Law Garden.

Police subsequently identified the driver as Mohammad Akran Tirmizi, 24, a resident of Limbdiya in Gandhinagar district. The Porsche was traced and seized as part of the investigation. The case was registered under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita relating to rash or negligent driving on a public way, along with relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.

Investigating officer PSI A C Zala said a notice was served on the accused and they were waiting for him to appear for questioning. “Preliminary inquiry indicates that he is a commercial pilot. Further details will be established after he is questioned,” he said.

According to another account of the incident, Tirmizi reportedly identified himself as a pilot and said he had been driving at around 110 kmph. Police are examining the available video footage, CCTV recordings and other evidence to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged high-speed drive.

300 Kmph Video Under Verification

Police are also examining another purported video circulating on social media in which the same Porsche is allegedly shown being driven at around 300 kmph.

Officers are checking the authenticity of the footage and whether it was connected to the same vehicle and driver. The investigation will determine who was driving the Porsche during the alleged high-speed run and whether the 300-kmph clip was part of the same incident.
