According to the complaint filed by the railway officer’s wife, Marina had allegedly been repeatedly demanding money from her husband and family by threatening them. The alleged blackmail had been continuing on different dates since January 13, 2026, and the accused had allegedly received money from the family on several occasions.
AI-Generated Obscene Photo Sparks Fresh Blackmail Threat
The case took a serious turn on July 31, 2026, when Marina allegedly created an obscene photograph of the railway officer using AI and sent it to his wife. The complaint also alleged that Marina claimed to have photographs of other unmarried women in the family. She allegedly threatened to make the images public and damage the reputation of the family members if her demands were not met.
Couple Approaches Jhansi Police
The railway officer and his wife eventually approached the police after the alleged blackmail and demands escalated. Police Explain Arrest
Additional Superintendent of Police Simran Singh said that, under the direction of the Senior Superintendent of Police, the Nawabad police arrested the woman in connection with allegations of editing a photograph using AI, blackmailing the railway official's family and illegally extorting money.
Police identified the accused as Marina Lazarus alias Marina Jessy, a resident of Hubballi in Karnataka. After her arrest in Prayagraj, she was brought to Nawabad police station.
Police said legal action was initiated under relevant sections and the accused was subsequently produced before a court.
The investigation is underway, with police examining the electronic devices recovered from the accused and the circumstances surrounding the alleged AI-generated photograph and extortion demands.
