New Delhi, December 19: Staff, employees, nurses and students of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences or AIIMS have been asked not to hold protest or sit-in or dharna in and around the campus. AIIMS Order on Protests Around Campus:

The protesters have even refused to vacate the Red Fort despite pleas by the police even as Swaraj India leader Yogendra Yadav was detained. The Left leaders including Sitaram Yechury and D Raja have also been detained from Mandi House. As many as 19 metro stations are shut across the national capital as a precautionary measure as protesters thronging different venues to oppose the Citizenship Amendment Act.

As protests continue, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that nothing can be achieved out of the Citizenship Amendment Act. "Nothing will be achieved out of this law (CAA). I urge the Centre that there is no need for this law at this time. The priority should be that the youth are given jobs," Kejriwal told the media. "People are in fear, not just Muslims but Hindu, Sikhs and Christians are also scared. People are scared how will they prove their citizenship," he added.
