New Delhi, January 4: Passengers of an Air India flight were caught on camera misbehaving with the crew members. After videos of the incident surfaced, aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) asked Air India to initiate action against unruly passengers. The incident took place on January 2 when Air India's flight AI 865 was delayed due to technical reasons and passengers got angry. Air India Becomes World’s First Airline to Use TaxiBot on AI 665 Delhi-Mumbai Flight With Passengers Onboard.

Due to some technical snag, Air India's Boeing 747, which was scheduled to fly for Mumbai, had to return to the bay at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International airport. According to reports, some passengers got angry due to the delay and allegedly misbehaved with crew members and threatened to open the cockpit door. Thay "taunted" pilots and asked them to come out. "Passengers had boarded the flight by 9.15 am. The aircraft taxied out at 10 am and returned from the taxiway in about 10 minutes. Attempts were made to rectify the snag. Finally, passengers were asked to alight from this ane at about 2.20 pm and sent to Mumbai by another aircraft at 6 pm Thursday," an Air India official was quoted as saying. Passengers allegedly started knocking on the cockpit door after the delay.

"Captain please one out… Loser come out… Come out or we will break the door," some young passengers are heard as saying. "I do not have a criminal record and don’t want one," one passenger is heard saying. Apparently, he knew that what he was doing was against laws.

Air India spokesperson Dhananjay Kumar said: "A video of few passengers of AI 865 is being circulated. The flight delayed on 2nd Jan due to technical reasons. AI management has asked the crew for details on reported misbehaviour by some passengers. Further action would be taken after an inquiry."
