An Alliance Air flight carrying 40 passengers and four crew members made a priority landing at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) on Friday afternoon after the crew reported low oil pressure in one of the aircraft's engines while approaching the airport.

Alliance Air Flight 91698, operating from Prayagraj to New Delhi, landed safely at IGIA, and all passengers and crew members disembarked without incident. The aircraft has since been grounded, while the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is probing the incident.

Alliance Air Flight 91698 Engine Issue: What Happened?

A Delhi airport source said one of the aircraft's engines became non-operational while the flight was nearing the airport. The crew contacted air traffic control (ATC) and requested a priority landing.

However, Alliance Air described the incident as a priority landing, clarifying that the flight crew did not declare an emergency.

"During the inbound approach to Delhi, the Pilot-in-Command requested a priority landing due to low oil pressure on the LH (left-hand) side engine," the airline said in a statement.

40 Passengers, 4 Crew Members On Board

Alliance Air said there were 40 passengers and four crew members on Flight 91698. All passengers deplaned safely after the aircraft landed at Delhi airport.

The airline said its team of engineers is investigating the issue. The aircraft has been grounded as a precaution.

DGCA Probes Alliance Air Flight Incident

Alliance Air has informed the aviation regulator about the incident. The DGCA is investigating the matter to determine the cause of the engine issue.

The incident comes amid continued regulatory scrutiny of aviation safety and aircraft operations in India. Further details are expected once the technical inspection and investigation are completed.
