Madhavaram follows with 15,038 vaccinations. Tondiarpet and Tiruvottiyur recorded 12,477 and 12,313 vaccinations, respectively. Anna Nagar accounted for 11,895 doses, Royapuram recorded 8,598, Manali reached 7,200, and Alandur covered 4,343 dogs. The initiative initially commenced in northern zones such as Thiruvottiyur, Manali, and Tondiarpet before scaling up to cover additional areas. Active vaccination efforts are currently underway in Kodambakkam, Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar, and Perungudi.
Integrated Health and Parasite Treatment
The mass drive pairs rabies prevention with concurrent medical care. During each encounter, mobile units administer treatments to manage both internal and external parasites, streamlining the fieldwork as teams navigate residential lanes. While the delivery metrics highlight extensive field activity by the deployed teams, corporation officials noted that zone-specific totals reflect completed work volume rather than an exhaustive census of remaining unimmunized strays in each locality. With nearly 99,622 vaccinations remaining to achieve the final goal, the pace of the campaign will depend on how quickly teams navigate through active sectors and expand deeper into remaining municipal zones.
