Amroha, July 22: In a horrific incident, a woman in Uttar Pradesh's Amroha district, went to the police station with a five-month-old foetus to get a rape complaint registered. According to media reports, the woman was carrying the foetus in her bag.

The woman, after reaching the police station, alleged that she was threatened to abort the baby. She also claimed that she was given contraception pills to consume after she was raped. The woman said that she was raped six months ago.

A police officer was quoted as saying that the woman and the accused were reportedly in a relationship. The boy did not want to marry the woman and hence made the girl abort her pregnancy, said the officer.

This is not the first time that such an incident has been reported from a police station. In January 2018, a woman had carried a foetus to a police station in Madhya Pradesh in Satna district. The woman alleged that she was kidnapped and raped for over seven months and she reached the police station to lodge her protest.
