Visakhapatnam, August 29: An 18-year-old teenager was brutally stabbed in Andhra Pradesh's Anakapalle on Wednesday evening. According to police, Sai Sanga Rao, 19, allegedly attacked Yashoda Bhargavi with a sharp object. The incident took place outside Ramachandra theatre in the city. The accused allegedly tried to kill his girlfriend on suspicion of cheating, reported The News minute. West Bengal Man Walked Into Police Station With His Wife’s Head Chopped Off ‘Because She Was Cheating’.

According to cops, the duo were in a relationship and had known each other for nearly five years. Their parents were also aware that they were a couple. When Bhargavi, who is a BCom first-year student, started talking with other boys in her class, Rao began to suspect that she was liking someone else, reported The News Minute. The accused stabbed Bhargavi with a sharp weapon in her in neck and abdomen. The onlookers who witnessed the crime immediately intervened and nabbed the accused and informed the police. Bhargavi was immediately taken to the hospital. Her condition is now stable, Police said to TNM.

Meanwhile, the cops have taken Rao into custody. A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed under sections Section 307 (attempt to murder) and Section 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
