New Delhi, September 6: The ‘Bharat Ke Veer’ trust has been formed with seven trustees headed by the Union Home Secretary to financially support the families of martyred Central Armed Police Force personnel. The trust will provide a platform to all citizens to contribute and provide assistance to the bereaved families of martyrs. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar and former National Badminton Champion, Pullela Gopichand have also been included in the trustees.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh gave information about the trust today through series of tweets. Singh tweeted, “‘Bharat Ke Veer’ Trust has been created by Ministry of Home Affairs for providing a platform to all citizens to contribute and provide assistance to the families of martyred CAPF personnel.” ‘Bharat Ke Veer initiative was started by the Home Ministry of India in April last year. It has now been formalised into a registered Trust.

The Ministry of Finance has approved the ‘Bharat Ke Veer’ under 80(G). With the approval of the finance ministry, all the all contributions to the Trust will be exempted under the Income Tax. The home minister in his tweet thanked the finance ministry for the approval. Last year in April, Kumar launched a web portal and a mobile app called ‘Bharat Ke Veer’ or India’s Bravehearts, which enables donors to contribute towards the families of CAPF.
