Mumbai, August 5: On Sunday, Vikroli police arrested a 19-year-old and detained a minor for alleging murdering a 22-year-old man over a mobile phone. The incident took place at Vikhroli flyover subway on the eastern express highway (EEH). Search for the third accused is underway. The deceased, identified as Tej Kumar Ram, was a Youtube Bhojpuri singer and a food delivery executive for Red Chilli hotel located at Kannamwar Nagar, reported mid-day.

According to police, the incident occurred on Saturday around 9:30 pm when the victim was on his way to deliver an order in Tagore Nagar. Ram was stopped by the trio. The accused wanted to rob his mobile and when he was unwilling to let it go they started thrashing him and later stabbed him several times with a knife. Onlookers took him to Mahatma Phule hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. "The attackers were thieves and tried to rob him. We have found the two accused and an inquiry is underway," a police official told to mid-day. A search operation to nab the third accused has been launched.
