A 22-year-old man bled to death outside a police kiosk in Sanjay Nagar on Sunday night after repeatedly punching a glass door in frustration. The victim, identified as Rajkumar, had reportedly spent roughly 40 minutes seeking assistance following an altercation with an autorickshaw driver before the incident occurred.

Rajkumar, a car mechanic originally from Siwan, Bihar, had approached the police "pink booth"—a specialized security kiosk staffed by female constables-to report an assault over a fare dispute. According to local authorities, the two women constables inside did not open the door because they grew frightened by his increasingly aggressive shouting and banging on the exterior. Frustrated by the lack of response, Rajkumar moved to another section of the booth and punched a glass panel on the door. The shattered glass severed a major vein in his hand, causing profuse bleeding. Moments later, he collapsed onto the road.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (City) Dhawal Jaiswal stated that the constables inside immediately alerted the nearest police post. A motorcycle patrol unit arrived within eight minutes and transported Rajkumar to MMG Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The victim’s family has raised concerns regarding the emergency response. Rajkumar's brother, Ritesh, questioned why immediate aid wasn't provided, noting that Rajkumar leaves behind a wife who is eight months pregnant. The family also alleged that the responding ambulance lacked a basic first-aid kit, causing further delays. Local police have detained the autorickshaw driver involved in the initial dispute for questioning. CCTV footage from the kiosk is currently being reviewed to establish a definitive timeline of the events. No formal case has been registered at this time.
