Siwan, February 15: A routine Saturday morning at Siwan Railway Station turned controversial when an allegedly obscene Bhojpuri song suddenly started playing on a television screen installed for advertisements, leaving passengers stunned.
According to eyewitnesses, the song aired unexpectedly on one of the platform TVs and continued for nearly three minutes. Shocked travelers immediately raised objections, after which the video was stopped. However, by then, several passengers had recorded the incident on their mobile phones, and the clip quickly went viral on social media. Passengers alleged that proper monitoring of the advertisement screens was not being carried out by station authorities. Many questioned how inappropriate content could be broadcast at a public and family-oriented place like a railway station without any immediate intervention. Reports suggest that no responsible official noticed the broadcast while it was playing. Normalcy returned only after the song ended and advertisements resumed on the screen.
Station Superintendent Mukesh Kumar Singh confirmed that he has been informed about the matter. He stated that a detailed inquiry is underway and strict action will be taken against those found responsible.
Notably, this is not the first such incident at the station. During protests over the Agniveer scheme earlier, a song was reportedly played through the announcement system, and disciplinary action was taken against a staff member.
The latest controversy has once again raised serious concerns about content monitoring and administrative oversight at the busy Bihar junction.
