Bittu Tabahi Explains His Yamuna Cleanup Plan
In his latest video update, Choudhary outlined his broader mission to travel across different states and spread civic awareness regarding the maintenance of public spaces. He explained that his initiative received backing from Philip Morris, which stepped forward to support the Delhi riverbank operation.
“As you all know, I had undertaken a mission to travel to different states and spread awareness about cleanliness. I really wanted to come to Delhi to clean up the Yamuna River. My video reached Philip Morris, and he provided immense support for this initiative; he organizsed a cleanup drive for today, Sunday, the 20th, and has been a huge help to me.” Choudhary confirmed that the drive was timed to coincide with World Cleanup Day activities and took place along the banks of the Yamuna River. The Team Removes 585 Kg of Waste
Describing ground conditions at the site, Choudhary said the ghat was heavily choked with solid waste, non-biodegradable plastic packaging, discarded fabric, and religious offerings. He coordinated with local volunteers who joined hands for hours to systematically clear the shoreline.
“Today, the 20th, is World Cleanup Day, so we are conducting cleanup activities over a three-day period. I am here on the banks of the Yamuna; there is a lot of trash, along with items like idols of deities, and today we are going to clean it all up.”
“This is our first cleanup drive in Delhi, and with everyone’s help, we managed to remove a total of 585 kg of waste. So, tell me, who is coming tomorrow?” he said at the end of his clip.
Detailing the effort in his Instagram caption, Choudhary wrote: “September 20th, World Cleanup Day. Four and a half hours of cleaning along the banks of the Yamuna, and together we removed 585 kg of waste.”
He added: “The ghat was littered with flower garlands, ritual offerings, plastic, and more. Locals joined in to lend a hand, and the entire riverbank was cleaned up. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated.”
Following the completion of the Yamuna drive, Choudhary announced that his multi-city environmental campaign will head next toward Haryana. Thanking Philip Morris for supporting the initiative, Choudhary declared his upcoming destination: “Thanks to Philip Morris for partnering with us on this journey. Next stop: Gurugram, Kherki Daula.
